We are installing several test taps to monitor when the sap starts flowing, at which time mroe taps will be installed.

Step 1: Select tap location, good spots include under a branchs. Prefereably into healthy looking bark, on the side of the tree that recieves the most sunshine.

Step 2: Drill a 19/64" hole at a slight upward angle, approximatly 2" deep.

Step 3: Hammer tap into the tree. tapping with a light wood hammer insures the wood does not split (source of infection to the tree/loss of sap).

Step 4: Attach the collection container, 2 litter pop bottles or gallon milk jugs make good containers.

Done! waiting for sap to flow.
