Storage
For long term storage it is important to properly bottle the syrup. This can be done by sterilizing, or freezing the syrup.
Sterilization
The syrup should be bottled in sterile glass or plastic containers immediately after boil-down. Alternatively you can reheat the syrup prior to bottling to sterilize it.
Freezing
Maple syrup can be stored in the freezer. Although maple syrup will not freeze due to the high sugar content, the low temperature does prevent the maple syrup from spoiling.
